ServiceNow found 75% of CIOs cannot see every AI tool they run.
ServiceNow's own research puts the number at 75%: three in four CIOs surveyed cannot fully see every AI tool running in their systems, diginomica reported.
On governance, 23% said it lags deployment. Another 12% said they deploy faster than they can govern, while 12% have no AI governance at all. On spending, 65% named AI and automation as a priority. 44% named security and compliance as their largest new technology investment.
Yevgeny Dibrov, ServiceNow's SVP and GM of Cybersecurity and Risk, told diginomica what changed: "You get a simple attacker executing like a nation-state attacker." His answer is real-time detection, which he calls "shift zero".
The vendor interest is clear. ServiceNow paid $8 billion for Armis late last year and has since bought Veza. Its AI business passed $1 billion in revenue in July. The piece recommends consolidating onto one platform, which ServiceNow sells.
Discovery is the first control. An inventory becomes useful when each tool has a process owner and a record of the data it touches. You also need to know which identity it runs as and what evidence an auditor will ask for.
