SAP says AI agents handle more than 90% of a wholesaler's 100,000 supplier confirmations unaided. Its Takeda figures are forecasts.
Lemvigh-Müller runs three coordinated AI agents on its supplier order confirmations, SAP said.
The wholesaler now reaches "more than 90% touchless processing of 100,000 confirmations a year", meaning no person handles them.
SAP published the figure while announcing that Gartner placed it in the Market Shapers quadrant of Gartner's first assessment of established vendors of supply chain AI agents.
The same post says Takeda Pharmaceuticals "will use" SAP's agents in regulated manufacturing. Its numbers for Takeda, up to 10% more productivity and 25% less revenue lost to stock-outs, are "expected results".
SAP says its agents work directly inside SAP Cloud ERP, its core business system, executing production orders and warehouse tasks "with no middleware between decision and action".
The post gives no cost for the agents and does not say who handles the confirmations that are not touchless, how many people did the work before, or when the wholesaler went live.
Our reading for SAP architects: with no middleware in between, the access rules of the core system become the agents' rules too.

For your next steering committee
- 1Ask which AI tools already touch your ERP or finance data, including the ones nobody approved.
- 2Ask what each tool is allowed to change, and who reviews what it changed.
- 3Ask how the result is measured, and who decides to switch a tool off.
