SAP's four new AI assistants write test cases and fix custom code in live cloud migrations. Only early adopters can use them.
Four migration and modernization assistants are now available to early adopter customers and already support live projects moving to its cloud ERP, the core business software, SAP said.
They cover four jobs in a migration: checking data quality, preparing tests, updating custom code and setting up the new system. SAP says the custom code assistant applies available fixes on its own and suggests corrections for the rest.
One customer is named. AkzoNobel uses the data assistant on its move to SAP's cloud, and its master data lead said it "reduced analysis effort" and sped up planning.
The release gives no price, no count of customers using the tools and no measured time or cost saving. Three more assistants, for system analysis, project management and rollouts, are planned with no date.
SAP itself says migrations need "thousands of business and technical decisions." The release names two things the assistants do on their own, code fixes and configuration, and does not say who signs off the rest.
