SAP plans three AI tools for early 2027 with no published price. One is a premium gateway for AI traffic.
SAP presented its Enterprise AI Gateway at TechEd on 27 October.
It is planned for the first quarter of 2027 and will handle authentication, policy enforcement, routing, monitoring, usage tracking and auditing of AI traffic, ERP Today reported.
SAP calls the gateway "a premium offering". Its announcement materials give no price for it, nor for the new Knowledge Graph features or the beta of its Ontology Manager, both planned for the same quarter.
One date is fixed. Running custom agents on SAP's Joule Studio runtime is free through December 2026, for select customers only, under a time-bound promotion. Design tools for building and testing agents stay free under fair-use limits.
So the free runtime ends before the gateway arrives.
Our reading for SAP architects: a gateway that every AI call passes through becomes a fixed part of the target architecture, and its fee becomes part of the running cost written into the plan. An architect designing agents today can build around a component that has a quarter but no price, or wait for the price before committing the build.

For your next steering committee
- 1Ask which AI tools already touch your ERP or finance data, including the ones nobody approved.
- 2Ask what each tool is allowed to change, and who reviews what it changed.
- 3Ask how the result is measured, and who decides to switch a tool off.
