Oracle launched the apps at its AI World conference in Las Vegas.

They run inside its Fusion cloud software for finance, HR, supply chain and customer service. One, called Ledger, works through large volumes of accounting entries to reconcile information and investigate exceptions. Another drafts workforce plans that weigh redeployment, hiring and outside staff.

In Oracle's own descriptions, the apps' actions are approved by people or sent to them for review. Chris Leone, who runs applications development at Oracle, called it software "that increasingly does the work, while people define the objectives and set the policies."

Co-CEO Mike Sicilia told the keynote, IT Pro reported: "We're giving people more time to be human."

Forkast, which tracks vendor price cards, found no pricing for the new apps. Oracle also published no availability date for Fusion Companion, a related assistant that lets users work with Fusion through tools such as ChatGPT.

Our reading: a buyer can see what the 25 apps do, but not what they cost. The announcement names no customer using them yet.
