Workday says Adyen's finance team now starts review on day one of the close. It does not say when the close ends.
Adyen staff used to reshape accounting data in spreadsheets on their laptops before it could reach the books, ERP Today reported on 4 November.
Using Workday's Data Cloud and Accounting Center, the company built data flows that book journal entries automatically.
Work that took hours now starts at the opening of the close, so staff can move straight to review on day one, according to Workday. "Workday does not quantify how much these workflows shortened the full month-end close," ERP Today noted.
Adyen's next targets for AI are collecting audit evidence and matching bank transactions to journal entries. It keeps sensitive conversations and judgement calls with people. ERP Today calls wider use of AI agents "a further step" for the company.
The figure Workday leaves out is how many days the close now takes.
