Reuters and Bloomberg reported that Apple had set the previous record in 2024.

Nvidia now has approval for $235 billion in buybacks, which it expects to use by early 2028. The board previously added $60 billion in August 2025.

Last quarter, Nvidia returned a record $26 billion through buybacks and dividends. Chief executive Jensen Huang said its cash generation allows Nvidia to keep investing while returning money to shareholders.

The shares rose about 2% after the announcement.
