Trump ordered federal agencies to rename AI. The new word is Super Intelligence.
An executive order signed Tuesday requires federal agencies to replace “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” with “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in letters, websites, reports and policy papers where legally permitted.
Existing regulations and contracts keep the old language. For now, the new term covers the same technology US law already defines as AI. The President's science adviser has 60 days to propose a definition.
The White House says the name "conveys the true capabilities of the technologies being developed today".
The same day, leaders from Google, Anthropic, Meta, NVIDIA and xAI, plus OpenAI’s president, signed a voluntary safety accord with four layers of checks, including an external auditor and board committee.
CIO.com noted the accord has no enforcement mechanism and does not require audit findings to be shared with regulators.
If your vendors' contracts start saying Super Intelligence, will the definition match?
