SAP will run Cohere's AI agents for clients with strict rules on where data is kept. Its launch post gives no price.
Cohere's agent platform, North, is now generally available on SAP Business AI Platform, SAP said.
SAP says it is for customers with "specific sovereignty and data residency needs".
SAP says it can host, operate and support North "end to end", reducing the need for clients to manage separate infrastructure or arrange support and contracts with Cohere.
SAP's post says North lets companies run AI agents "within their own infrastructure". It does not explain how that fits with SAP doing the hosting.
The post names no customer and gives no country where the service runs. Licensing terms are absent too. SAP lists its EU AI Cloud and Industrial AI Cloud as its other sovereign AI offers.
Data residency settles where data sits. A regulated buyer still needs the contract to say who can run the system, and at what price.

For your next steering committee
- 1Ask which AI tools already touch your ERP or finance data, including the ones nobody approved.
- 2Ask what each tool is allowed to change, and who reviews what it changed.
- 3Ask how the result is measured, and who decides to switch a tool off.
