OpenAI's agent platform was installed at 75 firms. 69% made it their main one.
VentureBeat published results on 18 September from its August VB Pulse survey: 221 responses, with 169 qualified respondents at organisations with 100 or more employees.
Of the 75 enterprises running OpenAI's agent platform, 69% name it their primary one. Of the 45 running Anthropic's Claude Platform, 38% do. Among the 162 firms that named a primary platform at all, 33% chose OpenAI. Another 24% chose Google's Enterprise Agent Platform, while 11% chose Anthropic.
VentureBeat says the sample is self-selected and skews mid-market: 16% have 10,000 or more employees. The counts refer to respondents at organisations. VentureBeat did not verify unique companies, and the survey carries no vendor statements.
VentureBeat also reported that 60% of the 169 said their organisation plans to change agent orchestration platform within 12 months. A further 28% selected limited flexibility across models and tools as their main concern with provider-owned orchestration.
In an SAP-heavy estate, the cost of moving is rarely the model endpoint. Much of it sits in the integrations and agent state. Then come identities and authorisations, along with the audit trail.
