Anthropic plans to back a European AI consultancy, the FT reported. Its engineers would sit inside clients, where SAP consultants bill days.
Anthropic's partner would be Hg, a London private equity firm.
The Next Web relayed the Financial Times report on 23 October. Offices in London and Berlin are expected by the end of 2026, and the main targets are software companies and other white-collar industries. Anthropic and Hg declined to comment to the FT.
It would be Anthropic's first investment in a standalone European consultancy. In the US it set up the services firm Ode earlier this year, backed by Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, with $1.5 billion in planned investment. OpenAI launched a similar deployment company in May.
The report says such ventures put AI developers in more direct competition with Accenture and the Big Four. Advising on technology adoption is a major source of revenue for those firms.
Our reading for SAP consultants: a client's AI project may now have a bidder backed by the model maker itself. The report gives no size or price for the new firm, and it does not mention SAP.
