Eight Group says IFS cut a 25-minute job. It now takes about 60 seconds.
Mo Dawood, chief information officer of Eight Group, a UK building-services company, described the change at IFS's Unleashed conference, diginomica reported on 19 October.
The job is recording a circuit-breaker panel. The engineer used to open a new entry for each circuit, type in the wire thickness, check it against a PDF and enter it again. "That job was taking them about 25 minutes to do per visit," Dawood said.
With Resolve, an IFS AI app built on Anthropic's Claude, the engineer photographs the panel and the app fills in the record. "We took a picture, extracted all the information, completed it in about 60 seconds."
Eight Group has over 1,000 UK staff and £200 million in revenue, and aims for £1 billion over the next three years. At that size, Dawood projects "a million hours a year we'll save". That is a forecast.
The timing comes from one engineer on one task. The report gives no price for Resolve and no count of engineers using it.
Whisky distiller William Grant & Sons, another customer, estimates it will save more than £10 million from the technology.
The article disclosed that IFS was a diginomica premier partner and funded the author's travel to the conference.
