Google asked firms to hand work to one Gemini agent. It named no price.
Google Cloud presented Gemini Enterprise as a single agent for work, The Register reported on 8 October.
It plans tasks, connects to company systems, starts its own sub-agents for jobs with several steps, and can call Anthropic's Claude models as well as Google's own.
"Gemini became an agent... You give it objectives, not just instructions," Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said nearly 80 percent of Google Cloud customers use its AI products. The Japanese telecom operator NTT Docomo claimed 450,000 hours saved a year with Google's data agents.
Google disclosed no pricing. The Register points to a Wall Street Journal report that AI spending is becoming "almost impossible" for businesses to budget, and notes that Google added flexible billing controls two months ago. Until recently Google sold two separate Gemini Enterprise products that were "easily confused".
Google has said what the agent does, not what it costs. The 450,000 hours come with no cost figure next to them.
What would you need to see before one agent touches your finance system?
