SAP puts about 80% of its product-development resources into AI, Handelsblatt reported. The paper says it has brought little revenue so far.
The share covers product development, not SAP's total spending.
It goes into systems such as the AI assistant Joule and the technology behind them, the German business paper reported on 22 October.
CEO Christian Klein told Handelsblatt that some functions are still being built and are not yet live. The paper says he holds out the prospect of more transparency.
The interview ran a day after SAP reported third-quarter revenue of €10.3 billion, a result Jefferies analyst Charles Brennan called undeniably strong. In the results release, Klein said customers are investing "from the cloud and data foundation to our Business AI." The release does not give AI revenue on its own.
Our reading: the 80% shows where SAP puts its development effort. It does not tell a customer which of those functions are live today.
