NHS England credits Palantir with helping 137 trusts. Twenty-nine say they are not using it.
Health worker group Medact collected Freedom of Information replies from the trusts, The Register reported on 3 November.
The 29 are about 21% of the trusts NHS England counts as “realising benefits” from the Federated Data Platform.
University Hospitals of North Midlands wrote in July: “FDP is not live. We do not intend to roll it out in the future.”
Ministers must decide in December whether to continue the £330 million contract, awarded in November 2023 to a Palantir-led group. Medact campaigns against the deal.
An NHS spokesperson said the platform is available to all trusts, which “select individual tools depending on their needs”, and that 137 trusts “have now reported benefits”. Palantir says its software helped deliver 100,000 extra operations and a 12% cut in discharge delays.
The gap the count leaves open: whether a trust using one tool counts as using the platform. Ministers decide on the contract in December.
