Accenture is exploring a China sale worth up to $1.5 billion. Buyers came unasked.
Accenture hired JPMorgan to review the business after buyers showed interest over the past year without being asked, Reuters reported.
The Financial Times reported on Sunday that a sale could fetch up to $1.5 billion. Accenture may keep a significant minority stake.
The Greater China business covers mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Neither report gives its revenue or headcount.
Accenture reported $74.2 billion in revenue for the year to 31 August. Asia Pacific brought in $10.7 billion of it and grew 8% excluding currency moves. That is the whole region, so it says little about China.
Nor do the reports say whether $1.5 billion would value the whole business or only the stake being sold. Accenture and JPMorgan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
