Databricks posted a customer film on 2 November about Getnet, the payments business of Santander. Getnet says it processes more than 30 billion transactions a year in the US, Europe and Latin America.

Every month its finance team pulls all those countries into one set of figures. Databricks' description says the teams spent weeks opening files and reconciling spreadsheets by hand.

Now, Getnet says, each country's numbers are checked and validated automatically as they arrive. "Instead of spending the month reconciling spreadsheets, the teams can trust the data," a Getnet executive says in the film. Staff type questions to Genie, Databricks' AI assistant. Chief financial officer Christian Diez says Genie "helps us to get answers faster."

The film gives no figure for time or money saved and does not say how many days closing the monthly books takes now. No outside check is cited.

Checking incoming numbers against rules is not the same as matching them to the main accounts. Which of the two does your team still do by hand?
