Wipro planned three years to move 240,000 staff onto SAP. It took 13 months.
Wipro moved human resources for 240,000 employees in 65 countries onto SuccessFactors, the cloud HR software from SAP, in 13 months, according to a customer film SAP published on 14 October.
The project was originally scoped for more than three years.
The new system covers an employee's working life, including recruiting and onboarding, performance reviews and succession, through to leaving. Before, Wipro ran separate HR systems, and staff searched for documents across 32 offline databases.
SAP's film reports that time to hire fell 37%. Employees save more than 60% of the time they used to spend finding documents. The film also says new hires now get goals from their first day; under the old systems, 21% did.
Four Wipro executives speak in the film, including chief information officer Kenny Kesar. The figures are the two companies' own, and no outside source has checked them.
The film gives no cost or implementation partner, and no start month for the 13 months. It also does not say how Wipro shortened the schedule: a smaller scope, a standard template or more people on the project.
