TCS's AI revenue passed $3 billion a year. Its staff still grew by 4,258.
Tata Consultancy Services reported annualised AI revenue of $3.1 billion for the September quarter, more than 10% of its revenue, in its results on 8 October.
In the same quarter its workforce rose by a net 4,258 to 598,056, the third quarter of growth in a row, Business Today reported. The first half added 13,537. Attrition over the last twelve months was 13.3%, and net profit rose 14.86% from a year earlier.
Chief operating officer Aarthi Subramanian said demand for "AI-led transformation of enterprise systems" continues to accelerate. In the quarter Honeywell picked TCS as its global SAP S/4HANA transformation partner, and TCS agreed to take over Best Buy's capability centre in India.
The growth follows the global restructuring TCS carried out in its last financial year. The figures show AI revenue and total headcount rising in the same quarter. They do not say how much of the hiring relates to AI work, or whether the same project now costs a client less.
Is AI work at your integrator adding people to your account, or taking them off?
