SAP's user group asked firms about live AI. Only 3% ran SAP's.

DSAG, the German-speaking SAP user group, cited the figure at its Cologne congress this week, rz10.de reported on 8 October.

The numbers come from DSAG's 2026 investment survey of 198 member companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 43% had AI in use. Of those, 77% had other vendors' AI tools in live use, what IT calls production, and 3% had SAP's. DSAG chair Jens Hungershausen said in the survey release that an AI use case inside SAP faces different requirements from a general AI chatbot tool.

At the congress DSAG asked SAP for mature products rather than more announcements, simpler AI pricing and contract terms that do not change overnight on a website.

At its Connect event that week SAP said it now has 10 Joule AI assistants in finance and has added 50 agents since May, with new accounting, revenue and project assistants due in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027, ERP Today reported.

The survey closed in January, before SAP launched Joule Work in May. The 3% shows what respondents had running by then. An AI tool that drafts text next to SAP is not the same as one posting finance entries inside it, and the survey does not separate the two.
