Raspberry Pi sold its 2 GB Pi 4 for $35. It now costs $67.50.
Raspberry Pi, the maker of small single-board computers, has raised the price of its 2 GB Pi 4 and 2 GB Pi 5 by $12.50 each, The Register reported on Friday.
The Pi 4 is now $67.50 and the Pi 5 $77.50. The company pointed to rising memory costs.
The 2 GB Pi 4 launched at $35 and went to $45 during the pandemic. This is the second round of increases this year, after April.
"The price of memory will eventually subside, and we look forward to reversing our own price increases when it does," chief executive Eben Upton said. The Register also cited Micron's chief executive Sanjay Mehrotra: "We do not have line of sight to when supply and demand will return to balance."
$67.50 is almost twice the $35 launch price, for the same board. The 16 GB Pi 5 launched at $120 in January 2025; The Register found it at $305 at one retailer.
Which of your 2027 hardware budgets still assume last year's memory prices?
