Adobe predicted AI-assisted traffic to US retail sites would rise 130%.
Adobe said on Monday that visits to US retail sites from AI chatbots will rise 130% this holiday season compared with last year, The Washington Post reported.
Adobe expects US online sales in November and December to grow 6.7% to $275.1 billion. Adobe tracks more than 1 trillion visits to US websites.
Adobe said shoppers arriving from a chatbot are more likely to buy and spend more per order. Its count includes tools like ChatGPT and Claude. Chatbot searches that start inside Amazon or Walmart are excluded.
Only a small share of people let AI complete the purchase. Amazon has blocked shopping assistants from Perplexity and Meta.
"Consumers are getting much more comfortable having dialogues with an agent, getting recommendations and going to the retail site from those conversations," Adobe's director of digital insights said.
If chatbots are recommending products, is your product and stock data accurate enough to be recommended?
