1. Workday announced "autopilot" agents for hiring, payroll, accounting and deployment on 13 October. Dow has not activated any Workday agents, diginomica reported. One reason is Flex Credits, Workday's usage-based charge for AI work. "HR doesn't pay the bill. IT pays the bill for our SaaS providers," said Dow's Sarah Jo Rowley. 2. SAP will give customers who run its software on their own servers some finance and purchasing AI if they move at least half of their yearly maintenance fees into cloud subscriptions, heise online reported. DSAG, SAP's German-speaking user group, calls it too strict for mid-sized firms. 3. Gartner estimates AI data-centre operators need $8.5 trillion in revenue through 2030 to cover spending and financing. It forecasts no more than $3.6 trillion over that period, The Register reported. 4. In Deloitte's survey of 66 UK finance chiefs, 52% expect AI to reduce their headcount in the coming year, Bloomberg reported.
