HubSpot's revenue rose 20% last quarter. Now it is cutting nearly 660 jobs.
That and three more of Wednesday's business stories, in 30 seconds:
1. HubSpot will cut nearly 660 people, about 7% of its staff, chief executive Yamini Rangan told employees in a memo filed with the US securities regulator. Second-quarter revenue was $911.7 million. Rangan said the cuts were "not driven by AI-related efficiencies." 2. Someone "abused" a private company's legitimate access to Denmark's population register and reached the details of about 8.8 million people, The Register reported. The register also holds people who have died or moved abroad. Police are investigating, and the company's access was blocked. 3. Games Workshop, the maker of Warhammer, had hoped to switch on new finance software in 2020. Its July 2026 annual report says the main financial system still relies on older software, The Register reported. The company says its improvement plan "is on track". 4. Research firm SemiAnalysis estimates that subscriptions to Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, use about 42% of the computing Anthropic uses to answer requests. Those subscriptions bring in 10% of its revenue, The Register reported. The report carries no comment from Anthropic.
