UiPath bots cut errors on medical bills from 7% to 3%.
Coronis Health, a US medical billing company, runs about 100,000 billing cases a week through UiPath software, diginomica reported on 25 September.
The software reads documents and routes them by difficulty. It then writes the data back into electronic medical record systems.
Coronis connects to 154 different electronic medical record systems for about 700 clients. In its anaesthesia division, 14% to 20% of records still arrive handwritten.
Error rates fell from 7% to 3%, the report says. Average handling time barely moved. Processing times became far more predictable, which improved staffing forecasts.
"We are never going to be in a place where we can say 'the bot messed up,'" said Doug Marcey, Coronis Health's chief technology officer.
Insurers now use AI to reject claims, diginomica wrote. Marcey compared it to hiring: "tools help your resume look good for the bot reviewing it."
When your automation improves, do you measure speed, or how predictable the work became?
